Civil marriage solemnization services
The municipality has authorized marriage officiants on staff to provide civil marriage services. Municipal officiants are able to officiate civil marriage ceremonies anywhere in Ontario. With three ceremonies to choose from, these ceremonies are an excellent option for couples seeking a non-denominational ceremony.
Ceremonies can be booked for a fee any day of the year, subject to availability.
To inquire about civil marriage services or to book an officiant, please contact the clerk's department.

Who can officiate my marriage? |
The municipality has a list of trained officiants who can legally officiate your marriage. Couples who wish to have a friend or relative perform their wedding ceremony should be aware of the legal marriage ceremony requirements in Ontario. Once a couple has been legally married by a registered religious official or civil marriage officiant as set out by the province, couples can create their own 'renewal of vows ceremony' and have it performed by a person of their choice in front of family and friends. |
Who can get married? |
Anyone over the age of 16 years old can get married in Ontario. If you are under 18 years of age you will need consent from your parents or legal guardians. Your parents or legal guardians must also be present at the time you submit your marriage licence application. |
