The Municipality of West Grey encourages residents to use the curbside recycling and waste collection service as it is the most convenient and cost-effective choice for recycling and waste disposal.
Tips for successful recycling and waste collection:
- Items must be set out by 7 a.m. on your scheduled day.
- Collection can occur anytime until the end of the day.
- Waste must be in clear bags with an orange West Grey bag tag attached.
- Recycling must be loose in a blue box. Do not bag recycling.
- Recycling must be properly sorted from waste.
- Recycling and sorted waste materials may not exceed 20 kg (40lbs) per blue box or clear bag.
- Curbside containers used to hold waste bags or loose recycling may not exceed 100 liters (20 gallons) capacity.
- Place items near the curb without obstructing the sidewalk or roadway.
- During the winter season, items must be placed on a cleared level surface. Do not place on snowbanks.
- If any of the above conditions are not met, collection is not guaranteed.
- Collection times may vary for a number of reasons including adverse weather conditions, road closures, mechanical or staffing issues.
- Items not set out by 7 a.m. are not guaranteed to be collected.
- If your items have not been collected by the end of the day, please contact Waste Management at 1-888-730-3344 and provide your name, phone number and exact address.
