West Grey's Infrastructure and Public Works department would like to share these reminders in accordance with the traffic bylaw and any amendments thereto.
- No person shall park a vehicle on a highway between 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. from November 15 of any year to April 15 of the following year.
- Snow pushed onto the sidewalk and roadway normally used for pedestrian or vehicular traffic, including right‑of‑way as it creates a hazard and is prohibited.
- Using markers to delineate the sidewalk can be helpful to plow operators however, the road allowance should not have hazardous items which may otherwise injure a person.
- Please ensure reflectors/markers remain on your property and not on the Municipal Road Allowance. Items on a road allowance are subject to damage from plows and will not be replaced.
- The Highway Traffic Act also prohibits any person from depositing snow or ice on a roadway.
- If you have a fire hydrant near your property, please assist us by removing snow to and around the hydrant within 24-hours after the end of the snowfall.
- Please ensure that recycling and garbage is placed in a location so as not to interfere with snow clearing and operations.
