Municipal Fire Ban Issued
West Grey, April 3, 2020 – For Immediate Release
A fire ban has been issued for the Municipality of West Grey on Friday April 3, 2020 and is in effect from 11:59 p.m. April 3, 2020 until further notice. This ban includes all open air burning.
All issued Burn Permits are cancelled at this time. Permits will be extended once the ban is lifted.
The Fire Ban does not include campfires contained in a pit or tire rim, or other device which is designated to burn firewood for cooking and warmth and does not exceed 61 cm (24inches) in diameter. Please do not leave your campfire unattended. Always keep a pail of water close by to extinguish any uncontrollable fire.
This ban is issued under Municipal By –Law 73-2008 Sec. 3.
- The Chief Fire Official or his/her designate, should weather conditions or circumstances require such action, may issue a Fire Ban, cancel all permits and no person shall set a fire or allow a fire to burn.
