During the month of February, the Municipality of West Grey is proud to honour and celebrate the legacy of Black Canadians and their communities in Canada. Black History Month is an opportunity for West Grey to recognize the past and present contributions that Black Canadians have made to Canada in such areas as education, medicine, art, culture, politics and human rights. We encourage you to explore and celebrate the heritage, traditions, cultures and histories of Black Canadians this February.
This year’s theme for Black History Month - February and Forever: Celebrating Black History today and every day – reminds us to recognize and reflect on the remarkable accomplishments, experiences, and challenges of Black communities all year long. Join us as we honour the significant contributions of Black Canadians and their communities!
