WEST GREY, ON—All parks, facilities, campgrounds and seasonal trailer parks within the Municipality of West Grey are closed, as ordered by the province. This also includes picnic areas, school playgrounds, boat launches and river access points.
“Grey Bruce Chief Officer of Health, Dr. Arra, Premier Ford, Prime Minister Trudeau, and health officials and leaders from around the world are saying the same thing over and over: stay home. In fact, Canada’s Chief Officer of Health has also said this is not the time to head to the cottage,” said West Grey Mayor Christine Robinson. “Simply put, this is not the time to travel or explore. This is the time to curb the spread of this virus. Staying home is the easiest and best way for all of us to help in stopping the spread.”
West Grey campgrounds and other nonessential businesses have complied with the orders.
“I can certainly appreciate that our campground owners, like other businesses, are facing uncertainty during these difficult times,” Mayor Robinson said. “We know it is vital for all nonessential travel to stop, and I thank everyone who is doing their part. Please, only go outside for groceries once a week and while doing that, practice social distancing.”
Nonessential travel includes visiting friends and family, playdates, unnecessary trips to stores and travel to seasonal and secondary homes. All travellers must self-isolate without exception for 14 days under the Quarantine Act.
