The Project
The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority (SVCA) is in the process of completing a flood hazard mapping study for Durham Creek in partnership with the Municipality of West Grey and D.M. Wills Associates Limited. The study area is generally outlined in Figure1.
The Process
The process to develop floodplain maps involves field investigations (topographic, bathymetric, and hydraulic structure surveys), a hydrology study (including hydrologic modelling, the development of a hydraulic model, the development of floodline maps, and documentation of the methodology and results from the study in a comprehensive report.
How to Participate
Residents and interested community members are invited to attend a Public Information Centre to review the draft results of the study. The details of the Public Information Centre are as follows:
Date/Time: February 22, 2024, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
Location: Durham Community Centre and Arena, Durham Hall, 451 Saddler Street West, Durham, Ontario
Members of the project team will be in attendance to display the draft floodplain maps and answer questions about the study methodology, results, and implications.
