Grant is part of more than $3.7 million given by Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada to public safety organizations across Canada
WEST GREY, ON – West Grey Fire Service recently received a $24,900 grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada to ensure our first responders have the necessary equipment to keep community members and themselves safe. The grant will be used to purchase new tools and equipment specific for use involving electric vehicles (EV), allowing our department to be better prepared to safely respond to EV emergencies and fires.
“We are grateful to the Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs in Owen Sound, Ontario for awarding us this grant,” said Deputy Fire Chief Shawn Edwards. “The new EV specific tools and equipment will fulfill a critical need within our department and allow our first responders to better help the people of West Grey during emergency situations involving electric vehicles.”
The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada has awarded 351 grants to public safety organizations since 2015. This grant is one of 19 Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada awarded to public safety organizations during the most recent grant cycle. The 19 grants will provide critical lifesaving equipment valued at more than $530,000 across Canada.
