Council proclaimed October 24, 2024, as Childcare Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day based on a request received from CUPE Ontario.
Council directed staff to proceed with an application to the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund for an autonomous bathroom solution in the Durham Town Hall Park. Considering recent community investments and facility usage statistics, it is recommended that the autonomous restroom solution be located at Durham Town Hall Park should the grant application be successful.
Council received an information report on Bridge N-056 highlighting the bridge condition and noting that the bridge has been closed.
Council directed staff to bring forward a bylaw to adopt a routine disclosure and active dissemination policy. The overarching principle in the draft policy is to advance the view that information held by the Municipality of West Grey should be made available to the public.
Council authorized staff to proceed with the redevelopment of the West Grey website. Staff are directed to enter into an agreement with GHD for the implementation of the Govstack Content Management System. Websites should be refreshed every five years to ensure they do not become stale.
Council shared information about upcoming community events, including:
- Neustadt Fall Fair on Saturday, September 21, 2024;
- Elmwood Wing Night on Friday September 20, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
