- Council received a delegation from Nancy Shaw, South Bruce Grey Health Centre respecting their commitment to provide safe and reliable health care in all four of the communities they serve and finding solutions for staffing shortages.
- Council received a delegation from Bryan Schenk and Eric Saunders, Earth Works West Grey respecting an update and review of the proposed Corporate Climate Change Action Plan.
- Council received a delegation from Lucy Leone, Healthy Living Group respecting their opposition to the proposed Corporate Climate Change Action Plan.
- Council received correspondence from MPP Catherine Fife respecting a request for support of Bill 21, Fixing Long-term Care Amendment Act (Till Death Do Us Part), and directed staff to send a letter of support to the Minister of Long-Term Care, the premier of Ontario and MPP Catherine Fife.
- Council received correspondence from the Municipality of Bluewater respecting childcare availability and directed staff to send a letter of support to the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, the premier of Ontario and all Ontario municipalities.
- Council directed staff to bring forward a bylaw to enter into an agreement with Dalcor Security Services for contract bylaw enforcement services.
- Council received an update on the West Grey Police Service building project. Construction of site works, police station and paramedic station is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2024.
- Council received a report respecting biannual bridge and culvert inspections. West Grey will continue to take a proactive approach to maintaining its bridge infrastructure.
- Council authorized the Mayor and Clerk to enter into a cost apportioning agreement with the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority for the provision of category 3 services.
- Council adopted the West Grey corporate Climate Change Action Plan. Prior to adoption, council directed staff to change the reporting period from five years to three years.
- Council directed staff to amend the parking bylaw to designate certain parking paces as EV parking spaces; implement per hour graduated charging fees with the first two hours being free and each hour thereafter being $3.00 per hour; and bring forward a bylaw to amend the fees and charges bylaw to add EV charging.
- Council authorized the CAO and Director of Finance to sign the purchase contract agreement with Fort Garry Fire Trucks for a new pumper truck to be delivered in 2025.
- Council members announced upcoming community events including the South Grey Chamber of Commerce 2023 Business Awards on October 19, 2023 at the Durham Community Hall; Oktoberfest on October 22, 2023 at the Neustadt Springs Brewery; the Neustadt Fall Craft Show on November 4, 2023 at the Neustadt Arena; and the Neustadt Lions Pork n’ Kraut Supper on November 5, 2023 at the Neustadt Arena.
