Council received a delegation from William Bishop regarding a request for compensation for water damage on his property.
Council received a delegation from the Mount Forest Aquatics Committee regarding the new outdoor pool project. The committee was seeking a financial contribution from West Grey to support this outdoor pool initiative in Mount Forest.
Council received a delegation from the West Grey Youth Group to highlight the various initiatives associated with the group. Representatives from the group noted that they will be seeking financial support from West Grey for their programming through grants to organizations funding.
Council received correspondence from Friends of Ayton regarding facility improvements, including upgrades to the Ayton Centennial Hall kitchen and the Ayton ball diamond lights. Council directed staff to include the requests in the draft 2025 budget for Council’s consideration.
Council received correspondence from Sue Godfrey regarding a request to pave concession 2 SDR between Allan Park and Grey Road 3.
Council authorized a five-year winter maintenance agreement with the County of Grey for the maintenance of Grey Road 27. Winter control services include patrolling, plowing, and sanding/salting.
Council authorized an access agreement with the County of Grey with respect to the location of the new municipal well for the Durham Waterworks. The new well is proposed to be on lands currently owned by the County that will be transferred from the County to West Grey.
Council shared information about upcoming community events, including:
- Normanby Optimist Murder Mystery dinner on October 26, 2024, at 6 p.m., at the Ayton Arena;
- Adult Halloween roller skating on October 26, 2024, from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m., at the Neustadt Arena;
- Neustadt Craft Show on November 2, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Neustadt Arena.
