Council directed staff to send a letter of support for the following resolutions:
- Town of Lincoln requesting funding for the urgent need for increased funding to libraries and museums in Ontario;
- Municipality of Calvin respecting fire apparatus; and
- County of Lambton concerning the financial responsibility for major municipally owned highways.
Council directed staff to display the 9-8-8 national suicide crisis hotline information poster in all municipal buildings. These signs aim to highlight an important initiative that helps remove critical barriers for individuals in crisis seeking assistance.
Council directed staff to bring forward a bylaw to enter into an agreement with the Municipality of South Bruce for the maintenance of roads. This agreement summarizes responsibilities for each municipality respecting winter maintenance, levels of service, and capital projects.
Council declared lands in Neustadt’s Industrial Park surplus so the lands may be sold. The lands will be listed for sale by real estate posting to facilitate further development in West Grey.
Council approved the draft agenda for a meeting with the Municipality of Brockton and the Town of Hanover to discuss the future Saugeen Municipal Airport. The meeting has been scheduled for April 17 at the Elmwood Community centre.
Council directed staff to enter into an agreement with Waterhouse Executive Search for Chief Administrative Officer recruitment services in the amount of $24,000 plus HST. Waterhouse demonstrated an extensive amount of recent experience in municipal recruitments, specifically for chief administrative officers. The estimated timeline for recruitment is six to eight weeks.

- West Grey Library Trivia Night at Trixie’s Saloon – Friday March 22, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.
- Easter Egg Hunts taking place in West Grey on March 30, 2024 at the following locations;
- Ayton/Normanby Optimist Club at 10:30a.m. at Rappsville, 211872 Baseline Rd, Ayton;
- West Grey Lions Club at 11:00a.m. at Spruce Ridge Community School;
- Elmwood Chamber of Commerce at 10:00a.m. at Elmwood Community Centre Pavilion; and
- Neustadt Lions Club at 11:00a.m. at Neustadt Lions Park.
- Durham Hospital Foundation is hosting the Denim & Diamonds Gala on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
