- Mayor Kevin Eccles presented an Ontario Senior of the Year award to West Grey resident Marg Rapp. West Grey thanks Marg for her outstanding contributions to the community.
- Council received a delegation from Anthony Fleming, Account Manager concerning MPAC Property Assessment in Ontario.
- Council declared a Canada Day celebration organized by the West Grey Durham Lions Club as being municipally significant. The celebration will take place on Saturday July 1, 2023 in Durham and will feature live musical entertainment, a “Loonie Lane” for children, a fire truck display, face painting, a tug of war contest and a firework display.
- Council declared June 15, 2023 as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and encouraged all residents of West Grey to recognize and celebrate seniors and their ongoing contributions to the success and vitality of our municipality.
- Council directed staff to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the West Grey Durham Lions Club for their off-leash dog park project in Durham.
- Council directed staff to send a letter of support to the provincial government in support of a resolution received from the City of Cambridge respecting amendments to the Highway Traffic Act.
- Council directed staff to send a letter to the provincial government in support of a resolution received from the Municipality of Tweed respecting Bell-Hydro infrastructure.
- Council endorsed the Drinking Water Quality Management Standard Operational Plan as prepared by Veolia Canada.
- Council authorized the transfer of $145,000 from the general capital reserve to fund the budget shortfall for the Meux Creek Gabion Basket reconstruction.
- Council directed staff to provide notice of intention to repeal fees and charges bylaw 45-2021 and bring forth the 2023 fees and charges bylaw for consideration.
- Council members announced upcoming community events including the Durham Herb Fair on June 10, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Riverside Park; the Abbeyfield Houses of Durham Seniors Residence community barbeque on June 10, 2023 in Durham; Music in the Park starting on June 11, 2023 and running until September 10, 2023 every Sunday evening at 7 p.m. in Riverside Park; and the Farmers’ Market opening on June 16, 2023 and running until October 13, 2023 every Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Durham.
