- Council received a delegation from Sean Galbraith, Shared Tower Canada respecting a proposed telecommunication tower facility at 112168 Grey Road 3, Ayton. Council directed staff to send a letter of support to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (IESDC) regarding the proposed telecommunication tower installation.
- Council received a delegation from Bogdan Dinu and Grant Johns, Shift Solar Inc. respecting Renewable Energy in West Grey. Council directed Mayor Eccles to sign the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) municipal support resolution on behalf of West Grey.
- In consideration of a request from the West Grey Durham Lions Club, council granted exemptions to the fee for a refreshment vehicle licence for JR’s Burger Bus and Eowyns for the Lions Club Canada Day celebration events in Durham on July 1, 2023.
- Council directed staff to sign a new Data Sharing and Services Agreement (DSSA) with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). The DSSA consolidates and replaces several dated agreements into a single document and will be in place for four years.
- West Grey has been awarded funding to create traveling recreation and library programming. West Grey staff will be taking recreation and library services “on the road” with mobile programming designed to meet the unique needs of each community.
- Council received a report concerning site grading, road construction and servicing for the Rockwood Terrace redevelopment. Grey County staff have proposed issuing a tender in July for early work with construction expected to start in the fall of 2023.
- Council postponed a decision on the draft Official Plan for Durham and Neustadt and requested that a special meeting be scheduled to address the Official Plan.
- Council directed staff to fly the Pride flag at the municipal office for the remainder of June 2023 in recognition and support of Pride month.
- Council members announced upcoming community events including Canada Day celebrations in Durham, Priceville and Holstein on July 1, 2023; the Durham Cemetery Memorial and Decoration Day Service on June 25, 2023 at 2 p.m.; Music in the Park every Sunday evening at 7 p.m. in Riverside Park; the Farmers’ Market opening on June 30, 2023 and running until September 22, 2023 every Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Durham; and the Durham ArtsFest on July 8, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mill Street and throughout downtown Durham.
