- Council received a delegation from Stephan Labelle, Manager of Saugeen Mobility and Regional Transit (SMART), respecting an overview and update on the services SMART offers to residents.
- Council received a delegation from CEO/Chief Librarian Jennifer Murley respecting the Grey Highlands Public Library 2022 annual report.
- Council directed staff to proceed with the replacement of Structure 189, a concrete box culvert located in Normanby on sideroad 25, at a cost of $334,284.55. The project will be funded through the 2023 capital budget with the balance of the project being included in the 2024 budget for funding. The majority of the project will be completed by October 2023.
- Council approved a vendor distribution agreement for garbage bag tags and directed staff to bring forward a bylaw to repeal and replace current bag tag vendor distribution agreements to reflect the increased bag tag fee.
- Council directed staff to enter into an agreement with Garafraxa Non-Profit Homes Inc. to act as a sponsor for their grant application. Garafraxa Non-Profit Homes Inc. is applying for funding for their playground project located at 329 Garafraxa St. N. in Durham. If their application is successful, construction will begin in the spring of 2024.
- Council passed bylaw 2023-070 to name roads in the Broos subdivision in Durham.
- Council thanked recreation staff for organizing the new ‘Play in the Park’ and ‘Movie Night in the Park’ programs. For more information on summer recreation programs please visit www.westgrey.com/summer.
- Council members announced upcoming community events including the Durham ArtsFest on July 8, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mill Street and throughout downtown Durham; the Fabulous Festival of Fringe Film taking place in Durham and Hanover from July 13 to July 22, 2023; the Elmwood Chamber of Commerce wing nights at the Elmwood Community Centre on July 14 and August 4; a baseball tournament at the Ayton Ball Park from July 28 to July 30, 2023; the Elmwood Chamber of Commerce bingo nights every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Elmwood Community Centre; and the Farmers’ Market taking place every Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. until September 22, 2023 in Durham.
