Council directed staff to send a letter of support for the following resolutions:
- Township of Adelaide Metcalfe respecting a request to increase tile drain loan limits;
- Township of Asphodel-Norwood respecting Public Health Ontario labs; and
- Prince Edward County respecting a call to action to meet the deadline of an accessible Ontario by 2025.
Council received a staff report on the 2023 annual/summary wastewater reports for wastewater treatment systems. West Grey operates wastewater treatment systems in the Town of Durham and the Village of Neustadt.
Council received a staff report on the 2024 grants to organizations, and awarded funds to groups throughout West Grey. In total, council provided $29,850 in grants to various community groups.
Council directed staff to stop up and close, and transfer a piece of Rock Street to Grey County for their Rockwood Terrace development project. The transfer of these lands is being done as part of West Grey and Grey County’s infrastructure, responsibility, and cost sharing agreement.
Council awarded the West Grey Police Services building tender to Domm Construction at a cost of $8,880,000, (inclusive of a $300,000 contingency), plus HST.
Council shared information about upcoming community events, including:
- Adult roller-skating on April 20, 2024, from 7 p.m. to 10p.m.
- Neustadt craft show on May 4, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Normanby Optimist Club Murder Mystery dinner on May 4, 2024, at 6 p.m.
