Back to SearchWEST GREY, ON — The Bentinck landfill will be closed until next Saturday, May 21, 2022. The landfill will be closed for a week to conduct site clean-up and inspection following a fire that occurred on May 11, 2022.
In the interim West Grey residents may use the Durham landfill for recycling and bagged garbage. The Durham landfill is open Fridays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Municipality of West Grey would like to thank West Grey firefighters, police, public works operations teams, and our neighbouring emergency crews for their hard work containing this fire. The response to the fire was immediate and the site was secured quickly. We thank all emergency crews for their support and keeping our community safe.
