The connect2SKILLS program is now accepting applications for residents of Bruce, Grey, Huron and Perth counties. The connect2SKILLS program is fully funded by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development and is delivered online. The main goal is to help those who are unemployed or underemployed enter the workforce armed with appropriate skills, certifications and a boost of confidence. This program supports each individual for up to 1 year.

Proof of vaccine process for West Grey facilities

WEST GREY, ON – West Grey recreation facilities require proof of vaccination status (or proof of exemption) with the rollout of the Ontario government’s COVID-19 vaccine certificate: Ontario’s vaccine certificate.
Ontarians need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination along with government-issued ID to access municipal recreation centres. That proof is needed as follows:
- individuals aged 12+ using a gym or other area with exercise equipment or weights

WEST GREY, ON — At the November 30, 2021 budget meeting, and following a review of the input from a month-long community survey, West Grey council directed staff to implement landfill changes to the Durham and Normanby sites. There are no operational changes for the municipality’s primary landfill in Bentinck.

Festive Lights Tour

The Municipality of West Grey is launching the Festive Lights Tour again for the 2021 holiday season.
The self-guided tour takes participants right across West Grey to visit seven sites decorated for the holiday season. Festive Lights Tour Passports can be downloaded here or picked up at the West Grey Municipal Office. Any pictures at the sites should be posted on social media with the hashtag #WestGreyLights.

Council continues to consider landfill operations

WEST GREY, ON — West Grey council is considering operational changes anticipated to create efficiencies and potential savings at the three West Grey landfill sites.
A survey to gather public input was conducted in November, and over 180 responses were received. The results of the survey can be viewed below.
