Notice of Intention to Remove a Holding Symbol - ZA10.2025

Take notice that the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of West Grey will, no sooner than Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. or so soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Council Chambers of the Municipality of West Grey, consider an amending by-law to remove a Holding symbol from Comprehensive Zoning Bylaw 37-2006, as amended pursuant to Subsection 36(4) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended (the “Planning Act”) for lands located at 775284 Highway 10, Municipality of West Grey.

The Planning Act requires that notice of Council’s intention to pass an amending bylaw to remove a Holding symbol be provided and that all complete applications be processed. This notice is given in accordance with the Planning Act requirements.

Property Description:
The subject lands are legally described as 775284 HIGHWAY 10 CON 1;SWTSR PT LOT 94 TO PT LOT 97, Municipality of West Grey, County of Grey. The lands are shown more particularly on the Key Map below.

Purpose and Effect:
In 2022, a Holding provision was placed on the lands via By-law no. 39-2022, to require a servicing agreement in place between the Municipality of Grey Highlands and the Municipality of West Grey.

To amend the Municipality of West Grey Comprehensive Zoning By-law 37-2006 to remove the holding provision from those lands zoned ‘M1-H Industrial Holding’ to permit the construction of an industrial plant (expansion to Chapman’s Ice Cream, Markdale).
The application does not propose any other changes to the existing site zoning.
