Council meeting highlights - June 18, 2024

Council received a delegation from Jesse Walsh regarding zoning amendment ZA07.2024. The proposed zoning bylaw amendment would provide relief from the provisions of the ‘R2 Medium Density Residential’ zone to permit the construction of a new three-unit townhouse and a new semi-detached dwelling; an existing single detached dwelling will remain.

Council directed staff to bring forward a bylaw to adopt the 2024 tax rates. The blended residential tax rate for 2024, covering the Municipality of West Grey, Grey County, and education, is set at 7.5 percent. The final tax billing due dates will be set for August 20, 2024, and October 22, 2024.

Council shared information about upcoming community events, including:

• Neustadt Markt on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.
• Elmwood Chamber of Commerce Bingo, on Tuesday evenings in the summer starting at 6:45 p.m.
• Elmwood Chamber of Commerce Wing night, Friday, June 28 from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
