Council meeting highlights - December 17, 2024

Council redirected $90,000 from the 2024 budget for Victoria Street into reserves. The original budget approved $90,000 for a single lane road repair on Victoria Street in Ayton. A developer has since come forward with a proposal, suggesting a 20m-wide rural road with granular materials and asphalt, in line with West Grey Engineering Standards.

Council directed staff to bring forward bylaws to stop up and close old road allowances and authorize the sale of these lands to Khanani Developments Inc. to facilitate a new housing development in Durham.

Council shared information about upcoming community events, including:

• Ayton Fire Fighters Association New Years breakfast on January 1, 2025, at the Ayton Fire Hall from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
