Council Meeting Highlights - April 1, 2025

Council held a public meeting on proposed increases to building permit fees. Prior to amending building fees, a public meeting must be held in accordance with the Building Code Act. Council approved an increase to building permit fees, and these new fees will take effect June 1, 2025. The building permit fees were last updated in 2016.

Council authorized certain new capital work and the submission of an application to Ontario Infrastructure and Lands Corporation (OILC) for financing of such capital work as it relates to the new West Grey Police Services building. The total cost of the new West Grey Police Services building is $8,880,000.

Council authorized a transfer payment agreement with the Ministry of the Solicitor General for the court security and prisoner transportation program. West Grey has been approved to receive funding in the amount of $10,666.00 under the Court Security and Prisoner Transportation program.
