Fall Leaf and Yard Waste
Fall leaf and yard waste collections are transported to the Municipality of West Grey's landfill sites.
Residents can also bring compostable materials such as leaves, shrubs, and branches directly to the landfill's compost area. However, grass clippings are not accepted.
The fall leaf and yard waste collection occurs every fall in West Grey, covering Ayton, Durham, Neustadt, and Elmwood (West Grey side only, east of Main Street).
If you miss the one-day collection you can bring items to the Durham or Bentinck landfill sites during regular operating hours free of charge.
How to set your items out for successful collection:
Items that will not be collected:
- Bags or bundles that do not meet the above criteria
- Yard waste in plastic bags
- Loose leaves, brush or garden waste
- Treated wood, contaminated yard waste, soil, sand and stones
- Items set out after crews have collected in any given area
