Finance and Tax Forms

Forms are provided as a fillable .pdf and can be downloaded, completed, then emailed to the Finance Department, mailed to the Municipality of West Grey, or dropped off in person to the Municipal office.

Residents may formally request a cancellation, reduction, or refund of property taxes through the submission of a S357 application. 

An application may be made for several reasons, including but not limited to a structure being demolished through fire or natural causes. 

Please complete the S357 application to request a property tax adjustment. Completed forms can be emailed to the Finance Department.

If you would like to end your enrollment in our pre-authorized payment plan for tax billing, please email the Finance Department to let us know at least 10 days prior to your next due date. 

If you are currently enrolled in our pre-authorized payment plan and would like to update your banking information, please email the Finance Department at least 10 days in advance. Be sure to include a new voided cheque with your request.

If you're moving, or are selling or purchasing a property within West Grey, please notify the Finance Department. You can also schedule your final water meter reading via this form.

Please advise us of your upcoming move at least 14 days prior to the closing date.

If you would like to authorize the release of property tax information to a third-party (for example, a corporation with no owner information on title, a resident wishing to have a bank represent them, or a (living) property owner wanting a relative to handle their billing), please complete and submit the owner's authorization form.   

Once the request has been processed, you will receive confirmation. If you have any questions regarding this, please email the Finance Department.

A property tax certificate is a legal document that shows the current tax status of a specified property, the annual property taxes, and any current or prior arrears for a property. Tax certificates are typically purchased by law firms, banks, and mortgage companies during property sales and for refinancing purposes. 

Tax certificates are available by request at a cost of $50 per property.  To order a tax certificate send your payment, including the property address, legal description, roll number, and current owner(s) name by mail to:

Certificate requests can also be emailed to the Finance Department, along with a copy of the cheque to be mailed to our office at 402813 Grey Rd 4, Durham, ON N0G 1R0.

Low-income homeowners in Grey County who meet certain criteria, and whose property taxes have increased over the previous year, may apply for a tax reduction of up to $500 against an eligible increase.
