Notice of a Public Meeting Concerning a Proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A PROPOSED ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT

Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of West Grey will hold a Public Meeting on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 @ 7:15 p.m., in the Municipal Council Chambers at 402813 Grey Rd. #4 to consider the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended.


The purpose of this Amendment is to change the provisions of the West Grey Zoning By-law for a temporary period of one year to allow for the keeping of hens in the residential zones of the urban areas of West Grey and on lots zoned A1, A2 and A3 that are under two hectares in size. Should this Temporary Zoning By-law Amendment be approved, it is Council’s intention to revisit this particular matter in one year. More detailed information pertaining to the keeping of hens will be provided in a separate by-law entitled “The Keeping of Hens By-law”, which is also being considered by Council under the Municipal Act, 2001 (S.O. 2001, c.25), as per below.


Any person may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of West Grey before the bylaw is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Municipality of West Grey Council to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Municipality of West Grey before the bylaw is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so. A complete application has been received by the Municipality.

By-law during the Public Meeting on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 @ 7:15 p.m., in the Municipal Council Chambers at 402813 Grey Rd. #4. The Proposed “Keeping of Hens” By-law would provide for a temporary period of one year to allow for the keeping of hens in the residential zones of the urban areas of West Grey and on lots zoned A1, A2 and A3 that are under two hectares in size, and it is Council’s intention to revisit this particular matter in one year, if approved..
